Module 3 - Ethical egoists think that people will be happiest if they look out for themselves and not concern themselves with others but is this where true human happiness lies? Discuss.

Sometimes, we could notice ourselves being so greedy. We only think of our own happiness not concerning ourselves what others feel on our deed. We sometimes say to ourselves “I’m happy with what I’m doing. I don’t care on what others may say”, this is being true and in a sense, a good thing but on the other side, selfishness is present. When your deed could already greatly affect anybody around you, especially if it could harm them and could hurt them, you are already being an egoist. You may be happy but what is happiness if you are aware that someone out there is suffering on what you’re doing. Would you still be happy and confident about it? Would you still be on your happiest? I’m sure that you would not be if you know you are hurting someone, instead you’d feel guilty. So, if we really want to be happy and be on your happiest, we should not just look for ourselves but we should also think and concern ourselves with others.
